Due to cardiovascular health issues, my husband and I, near 60 years old, drastically changed our 35-year old diet habits. Reducing sugar drastically without substituting artificial sweeteners was definitely our most difficult challenge. We also reduced high carb/low fiber foods greatly. We are naturally slim and had never before experienced a restrictive diets’s mental challenges, but we were determined to eat only healthy beneficial foods. Finding tasty satisfying food that met these requirements was unbelievably hard. Friends and family started trying to help us, but the suggested foods usually contained well hidden sugar.
